Sow and Plant

Start with a purchased plant and transplant it from early spring to mid summer.
Our Garden Planner can produce a personalised calendar of when to sow, plant and harvest for your area.

Notes

Will self seed if allowed to. Cut back flowering heads to prevent this. If plant becomes too bushy, cut it back and add leaves to compost. It is a nutrient accumulator.

Harvesting

Harvest leaves as soon as plant is big enough. Use young leaves in salads and cook older ones.
